Who We Are

SMALL TODAY, MIGHTY TOMORROW is a registered Non-Profit Company (NPC) dedicated to nurturing academic excellence, discipline, and personal growth among learners from Grade 3 to Grade 9 in Isithebe, Mandeni, KwaZulu-Natal.

Founded within the community it serves, our organisation responds directly to the realities of working-class families whose livelihoods are closely linked to the Isithebe Industrial Area.

Long working hours, shift work, and physically demanding jobs often leave parents with limited time and energy to support their children academically. Our organisation exists to bridge that gap—intentionally, consistently, and with compassion.

Founder & Leadership

Sakhile Nkuna (30)

Born and raised in Mandeni (Isithebe), Sakhile Nkuna is deeply rooted in the community he serves. His lived experience has given him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by working-class families and learners growing up without consistent academic support.

"Motivated by personal experience and a desire for meaningful change, I founded SMALL TODAY, MIGHTY TOMORROW to create opportunities I know many children lack. Our leadership is driven by the belief that early, consistent support shapes lifelong outcomes."

Under Sakhile's guidance, the organisation has grown from a simple homework help initiative to a comprehensive after-school development hub serving dozens of learners weekly.
